EL MONTE, Calif.—A woman who was fatally stabbed at a residence in El Monte was identified by county authorities Oct. 24 and her daughter was arrested in connection with the stabbing.
The Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner’s office identified Jacqueline Perez, 44, as the stabbing victim.
Officers arrested Ms. Perez’s alleged killer the same day. KABC 7 reported the suspect is Ms. Perez’s daughter, Kimberly Gonzales, 25.
El Monte Police Department officers were sent to the 11000 block of Ranchito Street about 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“Upon their arrival, they detained a female ... suspect, 20–25 years old, outside of the residence,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.
“The suspect was placed under arrest,” the sheriff’s statement said. “There are no suspects outstanding. A possible murder weapon was recovered at the scene.”
Ms. Perez’s city of residency was not immediately released.
