Chaya Raichik, the founder of the viral “Libs of TikTok” social media account known for spotlighting instances of wokeness in the U.S. school system, has been named to the Oklahoma Library Media Advisory Committee.

State Superintendent Ryan Walters announced Ms. Raichik’s appointment on Tuesday, citing her work in bringing attention to what he describes as the concerning trend of “woke indoctrination” in American education.

“Chaya is on the front lines, showing the world exactly what the radical left is all about—lowering standards, porn in schools, and pushing woke indoctrination on our kids,” said Mr. Walters. “Because of her work, families across the country know just what is going on in schools around the country.”

“Her unique perspective is invaluable as part of my plan to make Oklahoma schools safer for kids and friendly to parents. Chaya has a much-needed and powerful voice as well as a tremendous platform that will benefit Oklahoma students and their families,” he added.

In response to her appointment, Ms. Raichik declared, “We will get porn out of schools!”

On the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, she defended her stance against critics, asserting that those against her appointment are effectively advocating for children to have access to graphic books that depict and instruct school-aged children to perform sex acts, inform them of fetishes, and how to access apps meant to facilitate gay sex.

Libs of TikTok was created on Twitter, now X, in 2021. In Ms. Raichik’s own words, the account “just showcase[s] what the Left themselves are saying, and their views don’t hold up to scrutiny.”

Ms. Raichik previously told The Epoch Times that she doesn’t create the content shared on her account; she merely reposts content from TikTok to her 2.8 million followers.

“They create this content, and then I put it out there in their own words, and they don’t really want us to see it,” she told The Epoch Times’ “American Thought Leaders” program. “They want to just live in their bubble where everybody agrees with them. So, I’m posting this content, and they just can’t handle it.”

In 2022, Libs of TikTok drew attention to explicit content in a Tulsa public school library, leading Mr. Walters to call for an end to what he deemed as the indoctrination of children. The account faced controversy in the state again when a viral video by a Tulsa librarian sparked bomb threats against a local school.

The librarian’s video included the caption: “POV: Teachers in your state are dropping like flies, but you are still just not quite finished pushing your woke agenda.”

Ms. Raichik’s posts are regularly amplified by prominent figures, including X owner Elon Musk, elected officials, and influencers in the right-wing and conservative landscape. This makes her account “really effective” in exposing efforts by left-wing teachers and education officials to indoctrinate children with gender ideology and wokeness, she said.

The Oklahoma State Board of Education has recently approved rules allowing the demotion of a school district’s accreditation for having explicit content in school books. These rules are now awaiting formal approval in the state legislature.

The Oklahoma Library Media Advisory Committee, on which Ms. Raichik now serves, focuses on determining whether books violate the provisions outlined in Oklahoma’s Media Program Rule concerning “removing pornographic or sexualized content from public schools in the State of Oklahoma.”

The committee, a volunteer advisory board appointed by Mr. Walters, comprises parents, current or retired librarians, and English literature teachers.
