A 12-year-old girl who was killed while chasing her dog in Virginia will be buried together with the pet.
The accident happened on Oct. 28, when Jennarae Goodbar chased after her dog Cash out onto the road in Rockbridge County.
The girl was training her dog outside when the dog ran onto Route 60.
A driver ran into both the girl and dog, killing them. Police are investigating the crash.
“Jennarae Nicole Goodbar was killed in a tragic accident this afternoon. She will always be remembered as a sweet, energetic, dog loving, hunting loving little girl—a little girl who touched the lives of many,” wrote Sonja Cash of Buena Vista.

Community Mourns Loss
The community was mourning the loss of Jennarae, whose death came just one day after a 59-year-old was killed in a hit-and-run on Route 11.“Coming up on something like this is going to stay in your memory for a long time.”
Jennarae and her brother often played inside the fire department building as infants as her father was chief there and her mother was treasurer.
Family members said they’ve received an outpouring of support since the sudden death from the community.
