Shocking new video footage shows a Texas man being shot dead by neighbors.
The video was recorded in Abilene on Sept. 1 and shows an argument that escalated to the point that two of the men shoot the third man, killing him.
Argument Over Trash
“Several days ago, we believe, the deceased and the Millers began arguing over trash in the alleyway. This then triggered a back-and-forth between the neighbors, culminating with today’s violence,” the department stated. On Sept. 1, John Miller went outside to throw trash away, police said. He was armed when doing so. He got into an argument with Howard, prompting his son to go inside and grab a shotgun.
“Ultimately, the deceased was shot and killed. Early investigation indicates both John and Michael Miller shot the deceased, with a handgun and shotgun respectively,” police stated.
Kara Box, Howard’s wife, recorded the shooting with her cellphone.
Twin Mattress
She told the Forth Worth Star-Telegram that the argument was over a twin mattress. She and Howard had found it on their property and threw it into the dumpster, but the older Miller had removed it from the dumpster and put it back on their property.Howard told Miller to put the mattress back in the dumpster. “That’s when John [Miller] pulled a pistol out of his shorts,” Box said.
She said Howard had a baseball bat that he threw at the Millers, but it went over their heads. That’s when they fired.
“The old man fired past my face and shot Aaron in the chest twice with the pistol,” she said. “His son fired with a shotgun and I guess it was a scattershot because it took his eye, the top of his head, his ear.”
Arrested
They then placed their guns at the heads of Box and Howard’s brother, respectively, and ordered them to stay put. The police arrived soon after and the Millers were arrested. The Millers were released after posting $25,000 bail.
