Dan Bilzerian, the so-called “King of Instagram,” could be seen in a YouTube video asking Las Vegas police officers to hand him a gun as the Las Vegas shooter sprayed bullets at victims.
“Give me a gun!” he yells. The cop then yells back, “No, get the [expletive] away from me right now.”
“I don’t care!” the officer added. “You know better than that.”
Bilzerian, who is seen showing off weapons on his Instagram, has been pilloried on social media for allegedly fleeing the massacre and filming it. He said in a profanity-laden clip that he just saw a woman get shot in the head. “This is so [expletive] crazy,” he added.
Speaking with People, Bilzerian said the gunshots “sounded like firecrackers.”
Bilzerian said that he got into a van and took an injured woman to the hospital.
“I was pretty calm, all things considered, but I definitely ran to safety,” Bilzerian added to People.
He was slammed on Instagram by Dakota Meyer, who was awarded the Medal of Honor for risking his life to evacuate fallen coalition soldiers in Afghanistan in 2009.
“This is why children shouldn’t classify heroes by their followers or their photos,” Meyer wrote.
