In Volusia County, Florida,
officials released footage of a K-9 dog catching a reckless driver who tried to evade police capture on Oct. 8.
“Good boy Endo ... good boy,” the officer said, referring to the dog’s name. “Get your hands off. I could punch you in the face. Get your hands off.”
Fox35 reported that the dog is named Endo.
“On I-95 yesterday afternoon, a driver who was pulled over for reckless driving fought with an FHP trooper, jumped back into his vehicle and fled,” the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office wrote.
The deputies tried to deploy “stop sticks on the fleeing vehicle, which eventually came to a stop on the side of the highway. The driver bailed out and ran,” the office said.
The dog then apprehended the suspect, who was not named by officials.
The name of the man and his age weren’t released. Officials also didn’t disclose what charges he will face.
Volusia County is located in the east-central part of Florida.
Officials in Florida commonly release body camera footage of K-9 takedowns.
“K-9 Rambo would like everyone to know that if you commit an armed robbery (or any other violent crime) in Marion County, he will catch you, no matter how far he has to run or how many fences he has to jump to get to you,” the
office said in a statement on Oct. 1.Andre Baker, 29, allegedly robbed a couple of $40 at gunpoint. The Ocala Police Department then issued a warrant for his arrest.
“Baker has fled from law enforcement before. … He even told witnesses that he would flee from law enforcement by running into the woods,” the office said.
Weeks before that, police released footage of a Pasco County takedown involving a man who tried to
kidnap a child.The
Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said in September that the suspect “arrived at a residence and climbed up to the second-floor window and attempted to gain access to the residence.” Officials then “learned that this suspect had a no-contact order in place at the residence and that the residents were known to the suspect,” the office said.
“After tracking through the woods, Sgt. Ferguson and K-9 Titan came upon the individual running through the woods at which point K-9 Titan was deployed and apprehended the individual who was arrested,” said the office. Deputies said the child suffered minor scratches in the incident, the Brandenton Herald reported.
