USMCA Clears Key Senate Hurdle, Will Likely See Final Vote This Week

The bill that seeks to overhaul U.S. trade relations with Mexico and Canada passed a key hurdle in the Senate on Jan. 14 and will likely be brought to a vote before the Senate impeachment trial against President Donald Trump.

The Senate Budget Committee voted to approve the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement Implementation Act (USMCA) that is “designed to boost economic growth by modernizing the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). ”
