The public health alert was issued after the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) received “multiple complaints of bone fragments” in the product.

The fully-cooked, frozen, breaded chicken nuggets were produced on Aug. 6, 2024, solely for Wegmen’s Food Markets, according to the USDA. The item was distributed to stores in Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
The 46-ounce plastic packages have a “best if used by” date of Aug. 26, 2025, which is located on the back of the packaging next to the barcode in the lower right corner.
NTD reached out to Wegman’s for a statement but did not immediately receive a response.
