The United States Steel Corporation announced on May 2 that it will invest more than $1 billion in constructing cutting edge facilities in western Pennsylvania, drawing praise from President Donald Trump.
The company said the new investment will improve its “environmental performance” and “energy conservation” with a new sustainable endless casting and rolling facility at its Edgar Thomson Plant in Braddock and a cogeneration facility at its Clairton Plant. Both facilities will be part of the company’s Mon Valley Works.
