Trump Clobbers ‘Fake News Washington Post’ for ‘False Accusation’ on Front Page

President Donald Trump castigated the Washington Post as a “fake news” media on Tuesday for publishing a front-page story which resurfaced a “false accusation” from a woman who claims that he kissed her in Trump Tower in 2006.

“A woman I don’t know and, to the best of my knowledge, never met, is on the FRONT PAGE of the Fake News Washington Post saying I kissed her (for two minutes yet) in the lobby of Trump Tower 12 years ago,” Trump wrote in a pair of tweets. “Never happened! Who would do this in a public space with live security cameras running[?]”

Trump asked why the Post hasn’t published any stories on the women who took “money to make up stories” about him.

The woman featured in the Post article, Rachel Crooks, first made her allegations to the New York Times, months before the 2016 election. Crooks was one of 19 women making similar claims organized by attorney Gloria Allred.

After Trump’s election, Allred wrapped up her media campaign and none of the women, including Crooks, filed any charges. Allred resurfaced months later to organize women who accused Alabama Senate hopeful, Roy Moore. In similar fashion, after Moore lost the race, none of the accusers filed charges.

Trump’s mention of women who were offered money to accuse him refers to documents, emails, and text messages reviewed by The Hill which show that attorney Lisa Bloom, the daughter of Allred, worked to arrange payments from donors and tabloid media for women who either made or considered making accusations against Trump.

Bloom arranged a Hillary Clinton campaign donor to pay off one accuser’s mortgage. Another woman declined to make an accusation after being offered $750,000, the Hill reported. Bloom admitted that she engaged in discussions to secure payments for the women.

Bloom worked for four women who planned to accuse Trump, but only two came forward. One of the two women had her mortgage extinguished for less than $30,000, Fox News reported.

Trump has repeatedly denied all allegations.

Bloom has also represented Harvey Weinstein, who has been accused of sexual harassment by at least 84 women, in addition to women who’ve accused Bill Cosby and Bill O’Reilly.

Fox News reported her standard terms require clients to pay her commissions as high as 33 percent if she sells their stories to media outlets.
