President Donald Trump commemorated Women’s History Month on March 26 by helping launch the Republican Women’s Caucus.

Female members of the U.S. House and Senate joined Trump to celebrate the new initiative at the White House.

“We have more women in our Cabinet than any other Republican president in the history of our country,” the president said.

Notably, Trump appointed the first Republican woman to the positions of Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and Attorney General, tapping Tulsi Gabbard and Pam Bondi respectively.

The GOP Women’s Caucus will be chaired by Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.) in the House and co-chaired by Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) in the Senate, and will represent Republican women lawmakers in both chambers of Congress.

According to the Pew Research Center, women make up 28 percent of voting members in the 119th Congress. A total of 150 senators and representatives are women, a 44 percent increase from a decade ago.

Cammack, who also announced that she is pregnant with her first child, said the goal of the caucus will be to encourage women to grow in their leadership roles and support “policies that will enhance the quality of life for all Americans.”

The Florida congresswoman has led the Bipartisan Women’s Caucus, a decades-old organization made up of all female House members, for the last four years.

“President Trump made historic gains with women voters in 2024 due to the president’s recognition that women are not focused on just a few policies,” Cammack wrote in a statement.

“American issues are women’s issues, and this caucus launch solidifies President Trump and Republicans’ commitment to all Americans that we are focused on the very issues that impact everyday Americans from all walks of life.”

Britt said she hopes the caucus will highlight women’s issues on a national level.

“This historic coalition will ensure women’s voices remain central in our national conversation as we deliver on prosperity, opportunity, safety, and security for American families,” the senator wrote in a statement on X.

Trump said at the White House event that women will be the dominant and visionary leaders in this era, which he describes as the Golden Age of America.

“There’s nothing like strong, beautiful, wonderful women. You have the heart, you have the whole spirit, you’re amazing people, and it’s an honor to be with you. We’re going to work together and we’re going to make this the greatest age in the history of our country,” Trump said.

Women’s History Month honors the successes and sacrifices of American women. Congress initially designated only one week to commemorate women’s history and eventually expanded it to the entire month of March.
