A campaign office leased by presidential candidate Donald Trump in Virginia was burglarized Sunday night, with county police now seeking a suspect in connection with the incident.
In an Aug. 12 press release, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said the Trump for President 2024 campaign office in Ashburn, Virginia, was broken into by a white adult male wearing dark clothing, a dark cap, and a backpack.
According to the sheriff’s office, which released still photos of the suspect, they have video surveillance of the suspect and are asking for witnesses or anyone with information that could help find the suspect or further the investigation to step forward.
The photos revealed the man also had black sunglasses on his cap and that his backpack was mustard in color.
“It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into,” he said. “We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken as well as what may have been left behind.”
Leased by the 2024 Trump campaign, the office in the 20000 block of Ashbrook Place also serves as the headquarters of the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee.
The sheriff’s office said they were informed of the incident at approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday, with deputies responding immediately to investigate.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said investigators would provide more details as they become available.
“Anyone who believes they know the suspect, witnessed the burglary, or has any other information is asked to contact Detective Franks at 571-918-186,” the sheriff’s office said.
Trump has yet to address the incident publicly. The Epoch Times has contacted the Trump campaign for comment.
