Republican presidential nominee and former President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump will not join him on the campaign trail, said her husband Jared Kushner on Tuesday.

Speaking to the New York Times, Trump’s son-in-law and former adviser said there was “zero” chance that Ivanka Trump would join her father in the closing days of the election.

She “made the decision when she left Washington that she was closing that chapter of her life. And she’s been remarkably consistent,” he added.

Both Kushner and Ivanka Trump served in the first Trump administration and worked on his 2016 and 2020 campaigns. She also served as an executive vice president in the Trump Organization and was a judge in Trump’s NBC show, “The Apprentice.”

“We’re rooting for him—obviously, we’re proud of him,” Kushner said in the interview, referring to the former president. “But, you know, either way, our life will just continue to move forward.”

Since leaving the White House in 2021, Ivanka Trump has kept a relatively low profile and has made virtually no comments on Trump’s campaign. She offered a statement after the former president was subject to an assassination attempt in mid-July.

After Trump announced his 2024 presidential bid in November 2022, Ivanka Trump signaled that she wouldn’t partake in his campaign and would focus on her family life.

“I love my father very much. This time around I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics,” she said on Instagram after his announcement.

“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena.”

The only appearance that Ivanka Trump, a mother of three children, has made during the 2024 campaign was with other members of the Trump family on stage at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee earlier this year.

Her sister, Tiffany Trump, also appeared on the stage in Milwaukee without other campaign appearances for her father.

In November 2023, Ivanka Trump testified in New York Attorney General Letitia James’s civil fraud case against the former president that alleged he and the Trump Organization inflated its net worth to obtain more favorable loans and insurance rates.

Months later, she revealed on the Lex Fridman podcast why she stepped away from the political arena.

“Politics is a rough, rough business, and I think it’s one that you also can’t dabble in,” Ivanka Trump said. “I think you have to either be all in or all out.

“I know today the cost they would pay for me being all in—emotionally, in terms of my absence at such a formative point in their life—and I’m not willing to make them bear that cost.”

Trump’s wife Melania, meanwhile, has made a few campaign appearances. She spoke at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday to support her husband’s candidacy.

“Let us charge together with a shared vision that builds on American greatness. Let’s seize this moment and create a country for tomorrow—the future that we deserve,” Melania Trump told the crowd.

Melania Trump also publicly questioned the official narrative around the first assassination attempt against her husband in July as she was promoting her newly released book “Melania.”
“Now, the silence around it feels heavy. I can’t help but wonder why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech? There is definitely more to this story. And we need to uncover the truth,” Melania Trump said in a video released last month.

Trump’s sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have made frequent appearances at campaign events, regularly speaking at rallies and speaking on behalf of their father in media interviews.
