Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) released a graphic video on July 26 highlighting what was happening at the southern border of the United States over what he called “narco slavery trade.”

“These children come in, in debt to vicious cartels, thousands and thousands of dollars,” Cruz said in the footage, with clips showing migrants, with many children involved, crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in the late night.

“The teenage boys work for the gangs in every city in America, and the teenage girls experience a hell worse than that, with far too many of them human trafficked into sex slavery.”

The senator claimed that the Biden administration’s policies are to blame for those immigrants who are being exploited by the drug cartels.

“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are responsible for the worst plague of slavery in America since the Civil War,” Cruz said.

“This is not compassionate. This is not humane. This is barbaric,” Cruz said as the video presented graphic images of what appeared to be migrants who died trying to cross the borders.

“Abolish the Narco Slave Trade,” read the ending card of the video.

The senator blamed the Biden administration for ignoring the narco slave trade taking place at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“President Biden doesn’t want Americans to know that he has been ignoring the narco slave trade taking place along our southern border,” Cruz said in the post on Twitter accompanying the video.

Record High Border Crossings

The senator’s comments come almost two weeks after he visited the Rio Grande Valley with five other Republicans amid an influx of illegal border crossings.
“Just past midnight this morning, I was on the border in the Rio Grande Valley and I saw firsthand the human misery caused by Joe Biden’s open borders,” Cruz wrote in a July 15 post on Twitter.
The latest U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data shows there were 207,416 apprehensions at the southern border in June alone, the fourth month in a row of over 200,000.

The June encounters push the total number of apprehensions so far in the fiscal year 2022 to more than 1.74 million.

The number has already eclipsed the records of 1.73 million Border Patrol apprehensions set in the fiscal year 2021, despite three months left in the 2022 fiscal year.

Former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott warned the influx of migrants flooding the southern border had given cartels the green light to human trafficking, sex trafficking, and creating routes to funnel in lethal drugs.

“The cartels have figured out how to leverage [these gaps], and then they bring in the narcotics … and the people that are being trafficked,” Scott told NTD, the sister media of The Epoch Times, in a March interview.

Scott warned criminals have also been smuggled into the nation through these channels.
