SANTA ANA, Calif.—A 51-year-old man was convicted April 19 of sexual assaults on a girl he was related to from when she was 5 to 17 years old in Santa Ana, Anaheim, and Lake Elsinore.
Pablo Amaya Posada was convicted of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child with a foreign object, two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child—oral copulation with force or fear, and two counts of forcible lewd acts on a child, all felonies.
He is scheduled to be sentenced May 16.
The victim came forward to police in 2019 alleging Posada had attacked her multiple times while she lived with him, starting in November 1997 and continuing through 2009, according to police testimony in Posada’s preliminary hearing.
The abuse continued through moves from Santa Ana to Anaheim and then to Lake Elsinore, according to police.
Whenever the girl threatened to tell someone about the attacks, Posada said he would kill her or a family member, police said.
