An active shooter situation was reported at a federal courthouse in downtown Dallas on the morning of June 17, according to reports.
The incident occurred at around 8:50 a.m. at the Earle Cabell Federal Building. A suspect has been taken into police custody, according to media reports citing officials.
Witnesses told local media that gunfire was heard coming from inside the courthouse.

A photographer for Dallas Morning News told the publication that he saw a gunman open fire at the building. The window panes in the revolving door of the entrance to the building shattered shortly afterward. It was unclear whether the door was shot by the individual or law enforcement, the newspaper reported.
The photographer told NBC that the man was using a rifle and was also wearing body armor.
Local authorities have set up a crime scene around the building and some of the surrounding streets. Moreover, the nearby El Centro College has also been placed in lockdown.
Fox 4 reported that police are also investigating the scene for a possible bomb in the suspect’s vehicle.
