Former Buffalo Bills linebacker Robert Eddins was shot and killed in a basement by drug dealers, according to reports.
They traveled from Alabama to Detroit to kill Eddins. They killed the other man in the process, the reports said.
Eddins and McFarlin were found with multiple gunshot wounds.
“The murders of Eddin and McFarlin is just another example of how violence is intertwined with drug trafficking,” the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration said in a statement. “We hope to bring justice for the families of the deceased men and dismantle all organizations that spread these deadly poisons in our neighborhoods,” U.S. Attorney Matthew Schneider added in a statement.
Eddins played for Buffalo in 2011 after playing for Ball State University. He went on to play in the Canadian Football League.
Other details about the case have not yet been revealed.
