Last week’s mysterious disappearance of a reporter for a Texas football team became stranger still when the woman broke the silence on what happened to her.
Courtney Roland, 29, released a statement on Monday, Jan. 15, to say that the reason she went missing was an “adverse reaction” to prescription medication.
Suspecting foul play, concerned friends and family contacted the police and launched a social media campaign to try and locate her.
A passerby who heard news of her disappearance spotted the missing reporter walking under the Interstate 610 overpass in western Houston and called the police, according to the newspaper.
Police finally located Roland at a Chick-fil-A restaurant at the Houston Galleria mall.
Authorities found her disorientated about what had happened to her, but otherwise unharmed.
When she was found, she had minor injuries but was otherwise fine, the CBS report said.
