An alleged source who is close to Casey Anthony, the woman acquitted of murdering her 2-year-old in 2011, said she is trying to put her past behind her and might be looking into having another child.
Since she was acquitted years ago, Anthony, 33, has kept a low profile in Florida.
The Florida woman’s controversial past doesn’t bother her anymore, according to the person. “It’s ancient history, as far as she is concerned,” the unnamed source said. “It was a very dark period in her life, and she is a different person. So she’s ready for something new. If that includes children, she’s ready for that.”
“If I am blessed enough to have another child—if I’d be dumb enough to bring another kid into this world knowing that there’d be a potential that some little snot-nosed kid would then say something mean to my kid—I don’t think I could live with that,” she said.
Her father, George Anthony, said in 2018 that he hoped she could one day be a good mother.
“If she is granted a chance to have another child, I hope that child is strong, grows up to be a worthwhile part of society and, the person that she has the child with, I hope they are going to love her and that child immensely,” George Anthony said, according to the People magazine report. “I hope whatever life she has left that she makes something positive happen in her life.”
In the 2008 incident, her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, disappeared in Florida before her body was recovered months later near her home.
Anthony said in the AP interview that she had no idea what had happened.
“If I knew what actually happened, I’d be able to fill in those blanks. I’ve done enough research, I’ve done enough psychology seminars, I’ve been tested, I’ve gone to the psychological evaluations, talked about this to the point where I’ve been in a puddle and not able to talk about it for days afterwards,” Anthony said.
She added: “She is still the central part of my life, the central part of my being, always will be.”
