A California surgeon and his girlfriend pleaded not guilty Oct. 17 to drugging and sexually assaulting multiple women. The couple had previously been charged with assaulting two women; prosecutors added more charges involving five more women.

Dr. Grant Robicheaux and Cerissa Riley had initially been free on 100,000 dollars bail since their Sept. 12 arrests in connection with alleged assaults of two women.

But Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackaukus says five additional victims have come forward, which moved them to file new charges.

The case has garnered extra interest because Robicheaux once appeared on a reality TV dating show on the Bravo cable channel.

Although the 38-year-old Robicheaux received five more sexual assault charges, 30-year-old Riley received only three.

All seven victims allege that the defendants drugged them in restaurants or bars, lured them back to their apartment, and raped them.

District attorney Rackauckas claims to have seen the alleged assaults on video, but Robicheaux’s defense attorney says no non-consensual sex ever took place.

Robicheaux and Riley have been released on one-million-dollars bail each.
