GRANADA HILLS, Calif.—A search warrant served at a Granada Hills home revealed an underground bunker, approximately 12 feet deep, that housed a drug lab, authorities said Dec. 22.
The search warrant was triggered by a November anonymous tip to narcotics officers of a possible illegal marijuana cultivation operation in the 16500 block of Hiawatha Street.
A search of the house and lab on Dec. 21 turned up eight handguns, two shotguns, four rifles, and approximately eight pounds of meth, 3.6 pounds of cannabis, eight liters of gamma hydroxybutyrate—liquid ecstasy, one ounce of heroin, 2.1 ounces of fentanyl, 25 DMT (N- dimethyltryptamine) pills, 1.8 grams of alprazolam and 21 strips of suboxone, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers investigated and contacted Casey Linder, a resident at a home on Hiawatha Street.
“Officers believed that narcotics manufacturing was occurring at the residence,” according to police. “A search warrant was obtained for the residence which revealed a Psilocybin [hallucinogenic mushrooms] grow in a backyard shed.”
Inside the backyard shed was an access point to the underground bunker, approximately 12 feet underground, police said.
Linder was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing controlled substances and was booked at the Van Nuys Jail. His bail was set at $75,000.
