One of the parents of a 6-year-old boy who shot his 3-year-old brother in the head is facing charges, say police in Pennsylvania.
The 3-year-old boy was transported to Temple University in extremely critical condition.
The 6-year-old is believed to have got ahold of the gun and shot the toddler in the forehead in a second-floor bedroom.
The child is still in “very critical condition” as of Sunday, police told NBC.
Neighbors said they were stunned to learn of the shooting.
“I’m feeling hurt and I’m feeling destroyed inside because we have to be more protective of our children, and the things we allow them to get involved with,” mourned Helen Williams, 6ABC reported. “When I heard about it, I just broke down,” said Marainda Stewart of Tioga-Nicetown.
“To come home to hear about this is very disturbing and I hope and pray that he’s going to be alright,” said Charlene Aiken, another neighbor, to NBC.
Police are now waiting to get a warrant to search the home.
