VALLEY GLEN, Calif.—A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Metrolink train May 22 in the Valley Glen area.

Paramedics sent to the 12700 block of West Raymer Street at 1:19 p.m. pronounced the person dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Information was not immediately available on the identity of the fatally injured person.

The fatally injured person, who was in a “non-pedestrian area,” was hit by train No. 109, which was westbound on the Ventura County Line, said Scott Johnson of Metrolink. No one was injured aboard the train.

The tracks were closed in the area while an investigation was conducted, Johnson said.

Last Tuesday at about 3:20 p.m. in the Sun Valley area, a person was killed when a Metrolink train struck a vehicle at Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Raymer Street, just west of the location where the pedestrian was struck Monday, according to the fire department.

According to Metrolink, the train that struck the vehicle was heading from downtown Los Angeles to Moorpark on the Ventura County Line.
