The father of a victim of the Parkland school shooting told Democrats trying to use the shooting to push a gun control agenda to “go to [expletive].”
Andrew Pollack sent a tweet aimed at Democrats before the elections next month. The tweet is aimed at top Democrat Nancy Pelosi, who hopes Democrats will win a majority in the House in November. Pollack isn’t looking forward to that outcome.
Tragedy and Political Opportunists
Pollack did speak out when he felt the Parkland shooting was being used for political maneuvering. He aimed a tweet at another Parkland father who tried to shake Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s hand at his confirmation hearing. Fred Guttenberg tweeted that Kavanaugh didn’t shake his hand and that he “did not want to deal with the reality of gun violence.”“Judge Kavanaugh was not responsible for the Parkland school shooting that killed my daughter. @RobertwRuncie, FBI, and Sheriff Israel are. Judge Kavanaugh is a decent man and should be confirmed. Stop weaponizing Parkland to advance a dangerous political agenda!”
“I invited @Fred_Guttenberg to sit in the audience at today’s hearing because the Supreme Court affects the lives of real people. He knows firsthand how Brett Kavanaugh’s extreme views on guns could lead to more massacres. Thank you Fred, for honoring your daughter.”
Guttenberg was also at the meeting in Florida with Pelosi, also conflating the cause of Parkland with nationwide gun laws and then helming Democrats as the solution, to the delight of the Democratic politicians who organized the event.
The Parkland shooter confided in a 13-year-old girl that he met online before the tragedy.
“He was angry at the school because he got bullied a lot,” the girl told a sheriff’s office detective, according to the Miami Herald. “He said he was, like, pushed around and beat up some time. ... He said it made him feel very, like, sad and that he hated the school because of it.”
