Parkland shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz registered to vote in the recent midterm elections while in jail awaiting his murder trial.

Andrew Pollack, whose 17-year-old daughter, Meadow, was killed in the mass shooting in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February, said Cruz’s voter registration made him sick.
“Broward Sheriff Scott Israel let people into the jail to get him and other animals registered to vote,” wrote Pollack on Twitter. “The Despicable Democrats have no shame. Can’t let them steal this election.”

“My daughter was murdered and buried. She can’t vote,” he added. “Inexcusable that the Sheriff & SOE would proactively go into the jail to make sure that 18-1958 is registered to vote for the election. Beyond disgraceful.”

Cruz confessed to killing 17 people and injuring a dozen more. He hasn’t yet been convicted, which means he’s still eligible to vote as he awaits trial, Local10 reported.

Pollack also touched on the controversial vote counting in Broward County, where Parkland is located.

“The voter fraud in Broward is another example of the unethical liberal, incompetent Democratic leadership in our county. Broward’s ineptitude shouldn’t make the rest of the state and country suffer. When is accountability coming?” he added and slammed Broward County elections supervisor Brenda Snipes. “She does not deserve to be recounting votes,” he wrote, adding the hashtag #StopTheSteal.

Broward Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright disagreed with Pollack’s statement on Twitter. The process for voter registration is handled by the county board of elections office, while the sheriff’s office serves only as a mail carrier, Local10 reported.

“Inmates being registered to vote is nothing new. It doesn’t have anything to do with the sheriff,” Coleman-Wright said. “Taking away the voting rights of an eligible person awaiting trial is illegal.”

Update on the Vote Count

Gov. Rick Scott, who is running for Sen. Bill Nelson’s seat for Florida, said Nelson is “clearly trying to commit fraud to win this election,” Fox reported on Nov. 11.

When he was pressed by what he means, Scott said, “Well, it’s his team.”

Nelson, he said, has been a “sore loser.” He added: “His lawyers said that a noncitizen should vote, that’s one. Two, he’s gone to trial and said that fraudulent ballots should be counted, ballots have already been thrown out because they were not done properly. He said those should be counted.”

Scott this week filed lawsuits against election officials in Broward County and Palm Beach County.

On Friday, Judge Carol-Lisa Phillips ruled there had been “a violation of the Florida Constitution” and Florida’s public records acts after Broward officials didn’t turn over the requested records.
