The Orange County Fair is looking to fill hundreds of temporary positions to help run the fair this summer at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California.
The Orange County Fair—which is known for its many carnival rides, games, concerts, live shows, exhibits, competitions, and sporting events—is in need of workers to set up, operate, and maintain all these features alongside landscape workers and costumed characters.
Scheduled to run from July 15 to Aug. 14, the fair recently hosted a walk-up hiring event, which brought in approximately 300 new employees, an Orange County Fair spokesperson told The Epoch Times.
Currently, there are about 600 openings available, including ushers, carnival ticket sellers, security representatives, parking ticket sellers, and maintenance workers, according to the spokesperson.
Themed “Feel the Sunshine” this year, the fair has tickets for its concerts, sporting events, and shows already available for purchase online, as well as competition sign-ups.
As part of its “2022 Toyota Summer Concert Series” at the Pacific Amphitheatre, the fair will also host shows for musical artists, such as pop-country band The Band Perry, punk rock band The Psychedelic Furs, and violinist Lindsey Stirling.
Other events include monster truck shows, demolition derbies, and a series of concert tributes to music legends such as Michael Jackson, Elton John, Jim Morrison, Fleetwood Mac, The Cure, and Led Zeppelin.
Competition categories cover a wide range of skills—from livestock, horticulture, culinary arts, and wine to woodworking, fine arts, and table settings, according to the fair’s website.
