A man has been arrested after law enforcement officials say he shot one person and injured five others inside a warehouse in Ohio.
New Albany Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Dan Deville said the suspect, Bruce Reginald Foster III, was located in an apartment and arrested at around 10 a.m.
“Normally what we prefer to do is have people come out and surrender to us,” Deville said. “He refused to come out. Our guys did have to make entry.”
It’s not clear if Foster has retained a lawyer.
Foster is suspected of carrying out a shooting inside a warehouse of a company that makes products including cosmetics and toiletries around 10:30 p.m.
City officials have not released the identities of the victims, all of whom were employees at the warehouse. They said after Foster’s arrest that they were not disclosing the statuses of the wounded.
Four patients from the shooting were being treated at Mount Carmel East Hospital, but the hospital was not able to publicly disclose their conditions, hospital system spokesperson Mellissa Gallagher said on Wednesday afternoon.
New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones told reporters earlier Wednesday that the attack appeared targeted.
Officers recovered a gun on the scene. Officials declined to say what type of gun it is.
Jones did say that Foster worked at the warehouse.
There were no reports of any kind of confrontation or dispute that would have prompted the shooting, according to Jones, who said investigators have not yet found a motive.
