Oath Keepers Conspiracy Case Split Into 2 Trials, Judge Rules

The seditious conspiracy case against 10 members and associates of the Oath Keepers related to the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol building will be split into two trials—one in July and the other in September—U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta ruled on April 8.

Mehta said the July 11 trial will include defendants Thomas E. Caldwell, 66, of Berryville, Virginia; Joseph B. Hackett, 52, of Sarasota, Florida; Kenneth T. Harrelson, 41, of Titusville, Florida; David J. Moerschel, 44, of Punta Gorda, Florida; and Jessica M. Watkins, 35, of Morrow, Ohio.
