Veteran Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto is set to depart the network after a 28-year career.

The 66-year-old broadcaster has hosted “Your World” since Fox News’ inception in 1996.

“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with FOX News Media,” the network said in a statement confirming the departure.

“His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”

Cavuto hosts three programs across Fox News and its sister channel, Fox Business Network: the weekday shows “Your World” and “Cavuto: Coast to Coast,” as well as the weekend program “Cavuto Live.” Combined, these accounted for 12 hours of weekly programming. As of now, Fox News has not announced a successor for any of these shows.

Beyond his on-air duties, Cavuto also served as a vice president at Fox Business Network.

The long-time anchor has been open about his health challenges. He has battled multiple sclerosis, underwent open-heart surgery in 2016, and survived cancer. In 2022, Cavuto took a five-week leave from anchoring after contracting COVID-19 for the second time, a severe bout that sent him to the intensive care unit.

Cavuto served as a moderator for the second Republican presidential primary debate in 2015. Unlike many at Fox, he has not interviewed President-elect Donald Trump since his first term, and his relationship with Trump has become contentious over the years.

On his shows, Cavuto often challenged Trump’s claims, such as whether hydroxychloroquine is a safe preventive measure against COVID-19 and who shoulders the tariffs on Chinese imports.

Cavuto’s departure follows several high-profile exits across major cable news networks.

Just this week, CNN’s senior political analyst Gloria Borger announced her plans to leave the company after 17 years. Her exit came just days after CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota abruptly signed off for the last time after a decade with the station.
In November, Chris Wallace and CNN officially parted ways after three years. Wallace hosted “Fox News Sunday” on Fox News for 18 years before he announced in late 2021 that he was leaving for CNN to host a program on the streaming platform CNN+, which didn’t last a month before being shut down.
