Around 10 people were shot outside a restaurant in Miami Gardens while shooting a music video for rapper French Montana on Thursday night.

Detective Diana Gourgue told local media that officers from the Miami Gardens Police Department (MGPD) responded to a ShotSpotter report just before 8 p.m. at The Licking Miami Gardens.

According to police, an altercation began in another location and eventually ended at the restaurant where the shooting occurred.

Rapper Ced Mogul, who said he came to watch French Montana shoot the video, witnessed the shooting, 7News reported. Mogul said that someone in the crowd, who was also watching the shoot, was robbed of his watch and wallet, which escalated the situation.

“It was like at least 13, 14, 15 gunshots. It was very rapid, it sounded like an assault rifle,” Mogul reportedly said. “I took off running, and I was looking back, but I was like, ‘You know what? Let me just duck first, and then people started asking me, you know, ‘Can you help me?’ When I realized people were asking for help, there was nothing you could do about it when you got shot.”

The number of victims hasn’t been confirmed by police, but witnesses said several people were shot. Their current conditions are unclear.

Videos circulating on social media show injured people lying on the ground outside The Licking with blood pooling around them. A video shared by the Raw Alerts Twitter account shows police and emergency services personnel attending to injured people in a parking lot.
In further comments to NBC 6, Mogul said the robbery took place at the video shoot behind a neighboring KFC. According to Mogul, the shoot then moved to The Licking, where up to 10 people were shot, including rapper Rob49.
MGPD detective Diana Gorgue told 7News that authorities were still working the scene as of 10 p.m. local time.

“Yeah, there’s multiple shots, there’s multiple cases,” Gorgue reportedly said. “We’re still working. We can’t confirm any numbers at this moment, because everything is still fresh, and they’re still investigating.”

7News reported that a helicopter took some of the victims to an area hospital. It’s not clear how the other injured individuals were transported to the hospital.

Rescue responders were seen on 7News cameras transporting two patients into the hospital on stretchers. The victims were reportedly immediately treated by waiting doctors.

The Epoch Times contacted MGPD for further information and comment.
