The boyfriend of Mollie Tibbetts, Dalton Jack, spoke out about the search for the 20-year-old college student who disappeared in Iowa.

“Everybody has a Mollie, a person that has changed your life in such a huge way and that’s in everybody’s lives. Just imagine if somebody had taken your Mollie,” Jack, 20, told ABC News on Aug. 3. “Put yourself in our shoes. You would do anything to get her back and you would just be desperate for anything to come forward to get her back,” he added.

Tibbetts, also 20, was reported missing by her family on July 19 in Brooklyn, Iowa, and she was seen last on July 18 at 7:30 p.m. while jogging. Local reports say that she was reported missing after she didn’t show up for work.

In an update on Aug. 3, the Iowa Department of Public Safety wrote that “although Mollie has not been located, the investigation into her disappearance has not slowed.”

Jack, in the ABC News interview, said that he and Tibbetts chatted via text messages and social media on July 18 before she went out for a jog, which was her regular routine. Jack was out of town for work at his construction company, and she was at his Brooklyn home watching his dogs.

“We were just having conversations on and off through text and Snapchat, and that was about all. It seemed like a totally normal night,” he told the network.

The father of Tibbetts, Rob Tibbetts, told the Des Moines Register that his family wants answers. “If someone out there is holding Mollie, and they’re in over their head and they’ve made a horrible mistake, you can end it now before it goes any further,” he said.
Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa on Thursday said that the Bring Mollie Tibbetts Home Safe Reward Fund for information leading to her safe return reached $172,000 as of Aug. 2, according to the Register.

Poweshiek County Sheriff Thomas Kriegel, meanwhile, stated that Jack and Tibbetts’s brothers have been ruled out as suspects in the case, ABC reported.
The Iowa Department of Public Safety said that her last known article of clothing is believed to be dark-colored running shorts, and a pink sports top and running shoes, color unknown. Anyone with information about her disappearance is being urged call the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office at 641-623-5679 or write an email to [email protected].
