Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) dismissed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s calls to remove nearly a dozen Confederate statues from the Capitol.

Pelosi last week called for 11 Confederate statutes to be removed, contending that they “pay homage to hate, not heritage.”
