A Fullerton man pleaded guilty on Aug. 14 in connection with a gang-related shooting in Anaheim that left one man dead and another wounded three years ago.
Dominick Sanchez, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 29 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
Co-defendant Jacob Antunez, 26, pleaded guilty on July 14 to a felony count of discharge of a firearm at an inhabited dwelling. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 8 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
Jacob Nolasco, 29, was charged with single counts each of murder, attempted murder, discharge of a firearm at an inhabited dwelling, and participating in gang activity, all felonies. He faces a special circumstances sentencing enhancement for gang activity and also faces sentencing enhancements for discharge of a gun causing great bodily injury or death and gang activity.
The three were accused in the killing of 28-year-old Edwin Richard Ramirez-Hernandez and the wounding of another man, whose name was not released, according to Anaheim police.
Police responded at about 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 15, 2020, to a shooting in the street at Citron Street and Bellevue Drive, police said.
Mr. Ramirez-Hernandez, an Anaheim resident, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other man was hospitalized but survived, police said.
Detectives suspect the defendants targeted the victims because they believed they were rival gang members, police said, noting there is no evidence to suggest the victims had gang ties.
