VALINDA, Calif.—A 29-year-old man suspected in a violent home invasion robbery in Valinda that left a woman with facial and head trauma was arrested Dec. 19.
The victim was beaten inside her home before her bedroom was ransacked, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The robbery and assault were reported in the 16400 block of Burtree Street, near the West Covina city limits, around 3:15 p.m. on Jan. 31,
Investigators thoroughly investigated the robbery and identified Jeremy Rahmelle Dates as the suspect. He was located by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau Burglary/Robbery Task Force Tuesday in Upland, where he was arrested during a traffic stop and taken to the Industry Sheriff’s Station, authorities said.
Dates was held on $200,000 bail and is expected to appear at the West Covina Courthouse on Thursday. An unidentified suspect was presumed to be a lookout.
Sheriff’s officials said investigators were investigating whether this robbery is connected to other recent residential burglaries throughout Southern California.
