The incident occurred at the Apple Valley Aquatic Center in Apple Valley on July 31, the report stated.
When police officers arrived, they found the boy conscious and breathing. The boy’s current condition is unknown, but officials said he suffered several broken bones in his limbs.
Roman Adams, 18, was identified as the man who allegedly picked up the child and pushed him over the slide’s railing as they waited, police told the media outlet.
He was charged with third-degree assault, the station reported. Police said that the victim and the suspect don’t know each other.
Adams told police that he was waiting to use the slide, and the line was taking “a long time,” KARE11 reported. It was taking too long so he “pushed” the child and saw him fall, police said.
