Five people who were being held hostage by a man inside a home near Dallas were rescued, but the armed man is still engaged in the armed standoff.
Irving police spokesman James McLellan said the suspect is believed to be a man in his 60s, and according to the report, he then held several people inside the Irving, Texas, home against their will.
Police said that one person came out of the shed in the backyard at around 11 a.m., while police said four others were freed and safe, the report said. Police said the man is believed to be alone in the house.
Police said the bomb squad was deployed to the house, but they said there was no indication that explosives were involved, according to the CBS affiliate report.
No injuries have been reported.
