Police in Irvine, California, are asking the public to help solve the mysterious kidnapping of a mother and daughter.

Amber Aiaz, also known as Mei Yi Wu, and her daughter, Melissa Fu, 13, were last seen Nov. 22, 2019, at 6 p.m. at their home near Michelson and University drives.

The 35-year-old woman’s husband told police that their disappearance was preceded by a knock on the door. When he opened it, he was rendered unconscious by a Chinese couple harboring an unknown substance.

When the husband awoke, Aiaz and Fu were gone.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation—which is working with the Irvine Police Department on the case—is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to their whereabouts.

Irvine Police Sgt. Karie Davies said she’s hopeful the public might help.

“This case was investigated from every angle,” Davies told The Epoch Times via email. “In the end, it appears more than likely they were kidnapped. We put it out there again with the information about them possibly being kidnapped and a reward with the hopes someone would come forward who was not previously willing to.”

Police received information that Aiaz was followed leading up to her disappearance, Davies said.

“We have found no evidence of foul play, but Amber indicated she was being followed and pointed it out to her husband, who actually saw the vehicle she was referring to,” she said.

“She also told her mother and a friend she felt she was being followed. We don’t know why she would’ve been followed. Lots of unanswered questions in this case.”

The female suspect was believed to be in her 40s, stood 5 feet 8 inches tall with an average build, and had black hair in a bun.

The male suspect was described as in his 40s, about 5 feet 10, and about 190 pounds, with an average build and short black hair.

They may have been associated with a black Cadillac. The model is unknown.
