With 85 decorated Christmas trees, thousands of twinkling lights, 300 Santa Clauses, and much more, one Chino Hills, California, couple has gained fame in their community thanks to their home’s ornate holiday-themed interior.
Sylvia Nash and Loren Lillestrand, who’ve lived in their home for nearly 20 years, have once again gone all out in their latest Christmas exhibition this year. Their elaborately decorated home now draws close to 500 visitors annually who tour the home’s interior to see it for themselves, according to Nash.
This year, the couple have a tree covered in branches of artificial grapes and color-coordinated purple flowers and ornaments; another decorated with custom jewelry; a “rag tree” made from over 80 feet of colorful cloth hand cut by Nash; and one covered in hundreds of American flags.
Also displayed is a small ‘patriotic’ tree adorned with red, white, and blue teddy bears and ornaments, and pine cones.
There’s also a Santa-themed tree, a “pink angel tree” and one displaying small teacups she received from her grandmother as a child.
“I just love Christmas,” Nash told The Epoch Times.
She said she begins decorating her home in mid-September each year and typically finishes by the first of November.
One of their large hallway trees took about eight hours to decorate, she said.
According to Nash, she has printed two pages of frequently asked questions and answers which she distributes to guests detailing the hundreds of hours of preparation she undertakes for the display each year.
Also part of her decorations are small holiday-themed intricate “villages” each with unique characters and lighting effects.
The home’s exterior is also decorated with 30 trees of various sizes, inflatable snowmen and other Christmas characters, light-up gift boxes, and more.
Those wishing to view the home during the holidays must obtain a private invitation from the couple. This year’s holiday house tours have been concluded, with upcoming tours set to continue in December 2023.
