SUN VALLEY, Calif.—Burglars broke into a horticulture store and two smoke shops early Wednesday in the San Fernando Valley, and investigations were underway.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division responded at around 4 a.m. to Green Coast Hydroponics in the 11300 block of Sherman Way in Sun Valley, where they found a loading dock gate had been broken, according to the LAPD and reports from the scene.
No arrests were reported, and no suspect information was available, police said. It was unclear if anything was taken.
Two similar burglaries were reported earlier Wednesday morning at smoke shops in the Van Nuys area, according to Fox11.
One crime occurred at Your Smoke Shop, where surveillance cameras showed at least three suspects using a vehicle with a metal chain to damage a metal security gate, Fox11 reported. The suspects then entered the store and fled with boxes of merchandise.
A short time earlier and about 2 miles away, the same suspects targeted another smoke shop—SL Smokes on Victory Boulevard, Fox11 reported. They used a gray or silver-colored SUV to rip the metal gate off the store wall and then burglarized the business.
It was unclear if the suspects involved in the smoke shop burglaries were also involved in the crime at Green Coast Hydroponics.
