House Passes $300 Million in Aid for Ukraine

House members passed a bill that provided $280 million in defense funding and $20 million to create an Office of Inspector General to audit funding allocation.

A new aid package for Ukraine in the amount of $300 million was approved by the House in the evening on Sept. 28.

This after Republican leaders in the House of Representatives removed funds for Ukraine from the bill (pdf) to fund the Department of Defense, prompting the 311-117 vote, with all “no” votes coming from Republicans.
