A social media campaign calling on candidates in races across the country to pledge their support for pulling the COVID-19 vaccine off the market is gaining momentum, as the influence of pharmaceutical companies on elected officials continues to be a hot-button issue for candidates vying for political office.
“Let’s replace the politicians who aren’t protecting their constituents,” Dr. Bowden wrote on her social media platform. “Ask your representatives … publicly whether they stand with 17,000+ doctors to support pulling the Covid shots off the market.”
Initially, Dr. Bowden found two supporters. Less than three weeks later, she has garnered pledges from 50 candidates and 39 elected officials from 20 different states, all of whom have joined the movement in disavowing the vaccine.
Dewey Collier, a retired lieutenant colonel with 26 years of service in the United States Army who is running in the Texas Republican primary for state representative of District 5, told The Epoch Times that the concepts of liberty and justice compelled him to make the pledge.
“They [the vaccines] never should have been released without a longitudinal study, which, by definition, takes time—time they didn’t take to make sure the shots were safe,” said Mr. Collier. “Now that we have more and more longitudinal data, it is clear the COVID shots are not safe and must be pulled immediately.
“We need to start studying how to help the people who have been injured by the COVID shots, and take measures to assess other vaccines to make sure they haven’t been tampered with,” added Mr. Collier.
It is important for all candidates running to make their position transparent so the public can make an informed decision when they cast their ballots—something they weren’t allowed to do before taking the vaccine, according to Mr. Collier.
“The gross negligence of their scientific method prevented anyone from being provided adequate informed consent, which means that people were coerced, defrauded, and forced, and this amounts to the American people being trafficked into the arms of Big Pharma for money and power,” said Mr. Collier. “Now they want everyone at fault so no one is.
“As I believe in liberty and responsibility, foundational principles of our government, it is imperative that there be responsibility taken for the damage the COVID shots have done to people.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) also made the pledge, citing what she claims is increasing evidence that the vaccine may be causing dangerous side effects.
‘Help the Brave Ones’
The past two years have seen the COVID-19 vaccines become mired in controversy. The original COVID-19 vaccines were taken by more than 80 percent of Americans after officials pledged that the shots would be effective in preventing contraction and stopping the spread of the disease. However, once it was revealed that the shots didn’t work as promised, interest in the subsequent booster shots decreased dramatically.
Candidates in Florida, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Florida have also joined the movement, with more expected as the message continues to spread across social media, according to Dr. Bowden.
“A little over a month ago, we started with one candidate and one elected official willing to publicly state the COVID shots should be pulled off the market; now we’re up to 50 candidates and 39 elected officials from 20 states,” Dr. Bowden told The Epoch Times.
“Many were injured or have a close friend or family member who was injured; others are simply fulfilling the role they were elected to do—listen to and protect their constituents.”
Dr. Bowden says it will ultimately be up to the public to decide the involvement, or lack of, elected officials will have with the pharmaceutical industry.
“The public can help by following and supporting the ones running for office on the list. They have chosen the politically risky—but ethical—move, adding their name to a list that spits in the face of the captured medical-industrial complex,” said Dr. Bowden.
“Big Pharma spends more money than any other industry on bribing our politicians—we need to help the brave ones who can’t be bought.”
