Los Alamitos Sunset Saturdays Farmers Market and Street Fair
This special night market has something for everyone to enjoy, including live music, succulent farm-grown goods, food, a beer garden, and much more. Newport Bay Coastal Cleanup Day
Give back to the community and environment by joining the Newport Bay Conservancy to clean up the bay from trash buildup. With increased waste in the area from elevated use of single-use plastics, disposable masks, and gloves over this past year, these items and others risk harming wildlife, polluting waterways, and threatening public health, according to the organization.After going virtual with the event last year, this September the group hopes to remove over 10,000 pounds of trash and invasive plants from the uplands and marsh areas of the bay.
Volunteers will meet directly at 20 to 25 different mini-cleanup day sites around the 11-mile bay, including the Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center, Newport Aquatic Center, Big Canyon, Vista Point, Jamboree Bridge, and others. Exact meeting locations will be announced and sent to groups before Sept. 17.
According to the organization’s guidelines, it is recommended that everyone wear old clothes and close-toed shoes, with tall rubber boots or waterproof shoes preferred. Minors need guardian permission and adult volunteers present with them, with ages 6 and up eligible to participate.

Huntington Beach ‘Rocktoberfest’
The Biergarten at Old World Huntington Beach is hosting its second annual Rocktoberfest, with this Saturday’s concert designated as free! This “rock n' roll version of Oktoberfest” features live bands, DJs, amazing food, the Biergarten Shotzie Girls, a full bar with over 60 beers on tap, craft cocktails, and a 10,000 square foot open-air Biergarten with a large fest hall.
