A man accused of possessing child pornography and placing a phone camera in a Fullerton, California, park restroom also followed a 12-year-old girl into the bathroom and recorded her with a cell phone, prosecutors said on July 27.
Jacob Anthony Arriola, 33, was charged on July 25 with a felony count of possession or control of child pornography as well as misdemeanor counts of using a minor in the sale or distribution of obscene matter or production of pornography, using a concealed recording device to record another without their consent, placing a concealed camera to secretly videotape another in partial dress, and peeping, according to court records.
Mr. Arriola, who was being held on $20,000 bail, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Tuesday and was ordered to return to court on Aug. 2 for a pretrial hearing in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
The defendant is accused of following a 12-year-old girl into a restroom in Valencia Park and using a phone to record her on Sunday, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
The girl told her parents, who held the defendant down until officers arrived and took him into custody, prosecutors said.
Following his arrest, police recovered a hidden wireless camera in the restroom, prosecutors said, adding that Mr. Arriola also had child pornography on his devices.
Authorities said there may be additional victims, and they encouraged anyone who may have been victimized to contact Fullerton police.
