Former Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg was released from jail on July 19, according to New York City’s Department of Correction.

He served three months of a five-month sentence at Rikers Island after he pleaded guilty in April to two counts of perjury stemming from false testimony he gave during a July 2023 deposition.

The deposition was part of a civil fraud trial where he was accused of evading taxes related to perks—such as luxury vehicles and a rent-free apartment—he had when he was at the Trump Organization.

“Allen Weisselberg accepted responsibility for his conduct and now looks forward to the end of this life-altering experience and to returning to his family and his retirement,” said Mr. Weisselberg’s attorney, Seth Rosenberg, in a statement, after his client was sentenced on the perjury counts on April 10.

During the July 2023 deposition, Mr. Weisselberg was found to have lied about the size of former President Donald Trump’s New York City triplex.

Mr. Weisselberg’s guilty plea was part of a deal with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

In return, Mr. Bragg exempted Mr. Weisselberg from testifying against his ex-boss in the former president’s criminal trial this year.

The trial was about former President Trump incorrectly reporting a $130,000 payment to adult film actress Stephanie Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels, during the 2016 election.

Prosecutors accused former President Trump of making the payments in an attempt to influence the election.

Former President Trump was convicted in May on all 34 counts against him. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 18 and plans to appeal the verdict.

Mr. Weisselberg retired from the Trump Organization, which has been paying his legal bills, in 2021 after almost five decades.

His release from jail came one day after former President Trump accepted the GOP nomination for president.
