A former aide to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is now serving as a senior official of the New York State Communist Party.

The former staffer, Justine Medina, had previously worked for Ocasio-Cortez’s reelection campaign as a key policy writer in 2020, The New York Post discovered.
The Communist Party newspaper, People’s World, publicized her new position on the Executive Committee of the New York State Communist Party.

The communist publication had earlier identified Medina as the co-chair of the New York Young Communist League in July 2021, after working for the congresswoman.

Medina is also an active member of the Amazon Labor Union at JFK8 and a leader in the nationwide unionization campaign at the online retailer.

Long History of Far-Left Views

Before and after Ocasio-Cortez won reelection that year, Medina openly bragged about being a Marxist.
The former aide received more than $35,000 between February and November of that year, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) data published by The New York Post.
Medina posted on March 21 that she was responsible for “organizing and writing policy language with Anti-War Veterans & the Peace Movement,” while working for AOC.

Her social media posts show a history of making pro-Marxist statements before and during her employment with Ocasio-Cortez, according to old tweets found by the New York Post.

“[W]ell, I *am* a Communist, but work for AOC & helped start Queens DSA’s Electoral WG, so I def see utility in working on the Dem ballot line!” Medina posted on Twitter in October 2020.
“Communism is about equality, democracy, peace, the advancement of workers, the oppressed, and humanity in general,” she proudly said in a tweet a month later.

This is despite the fact that communist regimes killed an estimated 100 million of their own people in the last century.

The radical activist ominously warned that the path to communism would be “unkind” to those who “block progress,” adding, “[B]ut communism is good and shouldn’t scare you.”

When asked on Twitter whether she believed in the Maoist or Leninist variety of Communism, Medina responded that she belonged to the “Marxist-Leninist-Robesonist” school.

Father Fled Communism in Cuba

The NY Post reported that Medina happens to be a child of privilege, like many extreme leftists.

Her father, Omar Medina, is a wealthy Florida attorney who had previously escaped communism in Cuba by coming to the United States.

However, Medina sent out a series of tweets calling her father, a “rich anti-Castro … liberal,” who “just buy things.

“As for her allegiance to the Communist Party, I could not be further removed from that. It’s a big problem,” Omar Medina told The Post.

“My family escaped communism, and my daughter is misguided as to the benefits that political system provides, it flat out doesn’t work.”

Medina previously donated thousands of dollars to the Democrat presidential campaigns of Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton, according to FEC records.

History of Arrests

The former staffer played a key role in preventing Amazon from opening up a headquarters in New York City and like her former boss, she has long been a foe of online retail giant.
Medina also successfully participated in unionizing of portions of Amazon’s workforce while working as a packer at the company’s warehouse in Staten Island, according to an article she wrote on the Communist Party website.

She reportedly has had a long rap sheet of arrests while protesting and was arrested at least twice in June 2020 during Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots that spread throughout the city.

The AOC ally was also previously arrested by the NYPD for attempting to deface a plaque honoring Fred Trump in Woodhaven, Queens, according to the New Yorker.
