A Ferrari-driving Florida man was arrested after a 100 mph chase with police over the weekend, according to local reports.

Gabriel Molina, who lives in Miami, was allegedly driving at high speeds in the Florida Keys when officials spotted him, Local10 reported.

Deputies claimed that they chased him after he fled a traffic stop. He was arrested on April 14 on charges of fleeing an eluding a law enforcement officer, the report said.

When he was questioned by officials following his arrest, Molina allegedly told them: “The car is a Ferrari, and it goes fast.”

Adam Linhardt, a spokesman for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, told the local Florida station that a deputy saw a Ferrari going at about 75 mph on the Overseas Highway. The speed limit in the area is 45 mph.

The deputy then turned on his siren and lights before Molina began driving at a higher rate of speed. Linhardt said he reached a speed of 100 mph at one point and turned off his lights.

Minutes later, Molina was caught as he stood outside a gas station.

Molina admitted speeding but denied fleeing from the deputy, Local10 reported.

His passenger, a female, told the deputy that Molina did, in fact, see the deputy’s lights and heard the siren. She also told him to slow down, Local10 reported.

“But the female in the passenger seat stated that Molina did indeed see Sgt. Dosh’s lights and heard his siren,” the sheriff’s office news release regarding his arrest said, reported the Miami Herald. “She also stated she told Molina to slow down.”

The Herald reported that Molina has had nine traffic convictions between 2013 and 2019. He drove 100 mph in a 55 mph zone in Miami, and overall, he’s had to pay more than $2,400 in traffic fines.

It’s not clear what Ferrari model Molina was driving.

Other details about the case are not clear.

Cardboard Ferrari Bewilders Drivers

An artist, Benedetto Bufalino, created a fake Ferrari made out of cardboard that he inserted on top of a tiny car.

He painted pieces of cardboard red and even included the Ferrari logo on the side. It was seen driving around in a video that he apparently recorded and uploaded to YouTube.

According to Designboom, the car is intended to mimic a Ferrari Testarossa and includes painted rims and tires. There are also tailpipes apparently made out of what appears to be aluminum foil

The fake Ferrari has no windows and he inserted over a tiny French car.

On social media sites, users had mixed reactions.

“That can’t be legal.. You can’t see his brake lights,” wrote one.

Another added: “The solution for ballers who want to drive a ferrari but can’t afford it.”

In another video, Bufalino also apparently turned an old police car into a chicken coop.
