Firefighters Rally Behind Trump on Social Media After Labor Union Endorsed Biden

President Trump retweeted a series of almost 60 tweets today on Wednesday, May 1, in response to the International Association of Firefighter’s (IAFF) endorsement of former Vice President Biden’s 2020 bid for the White House, reported NBC News.

On Monday, April 29, after Biden initiated his campaign in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the executive board of firefighters union made its endorsement.

The IAFF stayed on the political sidelines during the 2016 election, not endorsing Hillary Clinton in the race against Donald Trump. However, President Trump believes that his policies over the past 2 years have done more for the firefighters themselves, implying that the labor union does not represent their interests and does not speak on their behalf.  Trump wrote on Twitter:

The president then reposted a series of statements posted over the past few days by actual firefighters and their friends and family members who said that they supported Trump over the former Vice President. They were responding to an original post by Fox News’s Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service officer who says that the union leaders do not necessarily speak for the employees, in this case, the firefighters, stating that:
