A Virginia mother who became an overnight national figure in the crusade against pornographic books in public school libraries has filed a lawsuit against a school board candidate alleging that he created a fake porn account on X, formerly known as Twitter, using her name and high school yearbook picture.
In her lawsuit, Stacy Langton, a conservative mother of six children and a major Trump supporter, accuses Fairfax County School Board candidate Harry Jackson of creating the account in her name as retaliation against her for speaking out against his candidacy.
“The false and defamatory claims that Plaintiff has performed in pornography is especially and uniquely harmful to Plaintiff, as her reputation has been built on her efforts to combat the availability of pornographic and sexually explicit materials in public school libraries,” the lawsuit reads.
Mr. Jackson told The Epoch Times that the allegations “are absolutely bogus,” although Mrs. Langton’s lawsuit includes evidence that shows that Mr. Jackson had administrative access to the account. The lawsuit also references witness statements, including one from a former chapter leader for Moms For Liberty that claims that Mr. Jackson told them that Mrs. Langton is a former porn actress. Mrs. Langton told The Epoch Times that the suggestion is “insane” and “extremely hurtful.”
Mr. Jackson said he plans to countersue Mrs. Langton for defamation. Mrs. Langton first went public with the allegations against Mr. Jackson at a press conference in August with other parents, both Democratic and Republican, who also made various allegations against Mr. Jackson.
Weeks before Mrs. Langton filed the lawsuit, the Fairfax Police Department told The Epoch Times that it was investigating the creation of the porn account and executed warrants on X to determine who created it.
The Epoch Times obtained correspondence from the Fairfax County Police, separate from the Fairfax police, indicating that it has initiated an investigation into allegations made by one of the parents. She accused Mr. Jackson of creating a fake X account in the name of her deceased son in retaliation for speaking out against his candidacy.
Mr. Jackson declined to comment on the specific allegation but said the mother, who’s a Democrat, is part of a group led by Mrs. Langton that has been “harassing him for a while.”
Mr. Jackson, who’s black, said Mrs. Langton once called him the N-word in a private message from a fake account on X in August 2022.
He sent a screenshot of the alleged message to The Epoch Times. It had only the title “A S.” Mr. Jackson couldn’t provide a link to the message and said he must have deleted it.
Both Mr. Jackson and Mrs. Langton are registered Republicans, and both have ties to Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who some believe may enter the 2024 race for president in November following Virginia’s Nov. 7 state and local elections.
Mr. Jackson and Mrs. Langton have accused one another of being operatives for the Democratic Party, a charge both also called foolish.
Mrs. Langton, who has appeared on “Fox and Friends,” Newsmax, and NTD News and as an invited guest at the 2022 Conservative Political Action Conference, became a national figure after her microphone was cut in 2021 at a Fairfax County School Board meeting when she read sexually explicit excerpts from the book “Gender Queer: A Memoir” and “Lawn Boy,” which she found at the local high school library.
She became the centerpiece of campaign ads for Mr. Youngkin’s successful 2021 reelection bid. Mrs. Langton has since led highly publicized protests against drag queen story hours, the promotion of transgenderism in schools, and LGBT sex education.
Mr. Jackson was a Democrat who had only a few months earlier held a Democratic fundraiser when he switched over to the Republican Party and declared his candidacy as a Republican for the Fairfax County School Board.
He served on the Governor’s Educators for Youngkin campaign, sometimes introduced Mr. Youngkin before his speeches, and won Mr. Youngkin’s endorsement when he declared his school board candidacy. Mr. Jackson, who told The Epoch Times that he’s a “political convert,” is also endorsed by the county Republican Party.
When Mr. Jackson was caught on camera laughing at an autistic child’s performance of the National Anthem, both local Democrat and Republican parents protested for Mr. Youngkin to withdraw his endorsement of Mr. Jackson.
Mr. Youngkin refused, calling Mr. Jackon’s behavior “egregious” but not disqualifying for a school board candidate. Mr. Youngkin’s office didn’t respond to repeated requests from The Epoch Times for comment about the allegations made against Mr. Jackson.
Mrs. Langton also asked the GOP to withdraw its support of Mr. Jackson.
Steve Knotts, chairman of the Fairfax County GOP Committee, told The Epoch Times that he has seen plenty of “childish behavior” on both sides in social media posts, but he emphasized Mr. Jackson is a far better representative of conservative values than his Democratic opponent.
Mr. Knotts did say that if the porn account claims against Mr. Jackson are proven to be true, “then that’s a different case” for him.
Support from the GOP and Mr. Youngkin for Mr. Jackson also continued after news emerged that Mr. Jackson had multiple domestic violence allegations against him from two wives and that he had pleaded no contest to one of the allegations.
The day after Mrs. Langton filed her lawsuit, Mr. Jackson sent The Epoch Times a statement written by Michael Ginsberg, chairman of the 11th Congressional District of the Virginia Republican Committee, attacking Mrs. Langton for filing the lawsuit against Mr. Jackson.
In the letter, Mr. Ginsberg called Mrs. Langton a “Twitter-obsessed activist” who’s spending her time “focused on meaningless Twitter games that will do nothing to improve educational outcomes in Fairfax County.”
Mr. Ginsberg himself was the subject of a meme based on the movie “Brokeback Mountain,” which is about two cowboys in a secret romantic relationship, that was posted last year on social media making fun of his support for Mr. Jackson.
In August, when allegations about Mr. Jackson’s link to the porn account first surfaced, Mr. Ginsberg told The Epoch Times he supported Mr. Jackson’s candidacy for the school board because he advocates for improving test scores, better college preparatory programs for students, and closing achievement gaps for minority students.
Mr. Jackson is a co-founder of the Coalition for TJ, which waged what became a nationally publicized legal battle to keep newly implemented race-based factors out of the application equation for the nationally prominent Thomas Jefferson High School, which is part of the Fairfax County school district in Virginia that Mr. Jackson would be representing if elected.
The school is predominantly made up of Asian American students.
