LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif.—Southern California Edison said June 2 an electrical conductor which connects two power lines in the area of last month’s destructive Coastal Fire showed signs of damage, with at least one pole that required replacement.

“Other than our current understanding of such condition pre-existing the fire, it is not known when the damage occurred or whether this condition contributed to the ignition of the fire,” the report reads.
