An elderly man injured during the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump was released from the hospital after recovering, health officials said.
James Copenhaver, 74, was discharged on July 26, a spokesperson for Highmark Health told The Epoch Times via email.
Mr. Copenhaver was treated at the Allegheny General Hospital, located in Pittsburgh and part of Allegheny Health Network, which is a member of Highmark Health.
Mr. Copenhaver was one of four people shot at the July 13 rally held by former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
In a statement from Mr. Copenhaver’s family, relatives said he suffered “life-altering injuries.”
The family said at the time that Mr. Copenhaver was thankful for first responders, medics, and hospital staff who helped him.
“Additionally, Jim would like to express his thoughts and prayers for the other victims, their families, and President Trump. He prays for a safe and speedy recovery for them all,” the family told news outlets.
David Dutch, 57, was released from Allegheny General Hospital on July 24.
Mr. Dutch’s family said in an earlier statement that he was recovering from injuries he suffered during the rally.
“David and our entire family are especially grateful to all the first responders and medical professionals who saved his life, including the Life Flight and trauma surgical teams at AGH,” they said. “As we focus on David’s recovery, we also offer our deepest condolences and prayers for the other victims of this tragic event and their families.”
After FBI Director Christopher Wray said former President Trump may not have been hit by a bullet, an FBI spokesperson told The Epoch Times that the former president was struck by a bullet in his ear.
Video footage and photographs showed former President Trump suddenly reaching for his right ear at the rally before ducking to the ground.
When he rose, his right ear was covered with blood. Some blood had spread across his face.
Former President Trump has said he suffered a bullet wound to the ear. In his appearances after the shooting, he wore a bandage covering the ear. His campaign has described him as fine.
Thomas Crooks, who was identified by law enforcement officials as the shooter, was neutralized by a Secret Service sniper, according to federal authorities.
